This Head of Research and Development job opportunity is a new role within the company, and part of their strategic development plans to lead the domestic and international brand communications and visual identity market.

The Head of Research & Development jobs responsibilities

The head of research and development jobs responsibilities will require you to work with all departments within the business, as well as external partners and clients.

Ultimately the role sits between the Sales and Marketing team and Operations, and reports into the Group Sales & Marketing Director with close liaison also with the Operations Director.

Brief overview of job responsibilities include: 

• Liaise with the sales team to understand their clients needs, wants & desires
• Establish customer & internal pain points regarding product & services, & investigate solutions
• Liaise with suppliers to understand their own current & future product development projects
• Work with suppliers on innovation & developing new products identified by the sales teams client needs
• Visit trade shows & events to identify potential new products, services & suppliers
• Research market for costs & pricing of new products / services
• Liaise with production & operations, co-ordinating the testing of new products

You

To be considered for this Head of Research and Development job you’ll need experience of working within the sign and graphic’s industry and have well rounded knowledge of materials, finishes and products.

In addition, you will also need the following:

• The ability to manage across Group Departmental boundaries
• Confidence to work with internal & external teams to develop solutions that increase customer experience & market penetration
• Inquisitive, innovative & a passion for problem solving
• Understanding of pricing existing products & services, & the ability to devise pricing for new ones
• Excellent attention to detail
• Sound written & verbal communication skills
• Highly organised, with good time management skills
• Self motivated, flexible & driven
• Full UK Driving Licence & a willingness to travel
